International Day of the Girl Child
Every girl deserves an opportunity for a bright future. On International Day of the Girl, 11th October 2025, we join the international community to celebrate the achievements of girls and encourage the global movement to advocate for the rights of the girl. We commemorate this day not only because it is a global movement, but also because we prioritize and center the needs of adolescent girls and young women.
Through our programs, we promote sexual reproductive health and rights through comprehensive sexuality education (CSE) and menstrual health to raise awareness and emphasize the importance of bodily autonomy and community support for dignified lives for girls. While girls globally experience inequalities, the case of communities in Cameroon is intensified by rising conflicts, which affect the quality of lives for girls. We also raise our voices against gender-based violence targeted at girls, like rape, child marriage, child labor, and abuse.

We call on more solidarity to support and protect girls in crisis-affected communities and safe spaces for their voices to be heard and support for their dreams to be realized.Voices for Transformation Initiative (VotInitiative) continues to work in communities, advocating and contributing to a world where adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) and young people are empowered, beautiful, and thriving.
