#16DaysOfActivism : Community voices ending digital violence against women and girls

As we mark 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, our team urges action against the digital threats faced by women and girls. Technology can be a powerful tool for equality, if we ensure online spaces are safe and inclusive for all. Far too many women experience harassment and abuse online, which silences voices and limits participation. This must end. Together, we can dismantle digital threats, challenge harmful behaviors, and demand stronger protections on digital platforms.

“Let’s empower women to speak up and lead online without fear.
Join us this #16Days of Activism by raising your voice, supporting survivors, and advocating for safer digital spaces. Equality is possible, if we build it together,” Cynthia Bi.

Digital platforms should empower, not endanger. Online abuse is a serious barrier to women’s participation, growth, and leadership. By addressing and changing online abuse, we create safer platforms where women and girls can learn, lead, and raise their voices boldly without fear.

“True equality must exist both offline and online. We must ensure that digital spaces are inclusive, respectful, and supportive so that all women and girls feel safe to express themselves and contribute to society. Ending online abuse is not just about safety. It is about opening doors for women to thrive, innovate, and inspire change.” Mercy Cheah explains.

Call to Action :

“Let’s join together to transform our digital communities into spaces where everyone is respected and empowered. Stand with us during these 16 days and every day to end online abuse and champion equality for women and girls everywhere.” Mercy
